Patrick came in to speak to us about the good and bad in advertising. I was thrust into a debate that required me to stand up for advertising and argue its positives, it was pleasant and I didn't succeed in convincing the class to vote for it. The talk afterwards was really enlightening though and I found it thoroughly interesting grasping the unknown and overlooked aspects advertising has in present day.
This was all very relevant to my dissertation in many ways and I later referenced my notes to fuel the written discourse I've been working on. Here's what I wrote:
